After TWD Sunday Night Showdown
You can still hear the commotion out in the arena as thousands of people try to leave in a hurry, hoping to beat the traffic rush. In the back some of the production crew is hard at work packing everything up in anticipation of the next show. Many of the wrestlers have already left for the night to begin preparing for their next match, or plotting their next move. However, there is at least one wrestler who has not quite made that move yet. He sits on a speaker box just to the right of the entrance way. People occasionally walk past him, some accidently bumping into him, but he pays them no attention as he is to busy focusing one something he has been striving for…TWD Gold…specifically the TWD Tag Team Title belt.
Colt sits with both of his hands under the belt grasping it tightly. He is still in a state of shock and awe at the events that just occurred in the ring. He is now, at least in his mind, among the elite that have held gold in the TWD, but at what cost?
I told them all I would be TWD Champion
I didn’t think it would be Tag Champion, but it still counts
They all doubted me, said I was nothing more than a big body
Well they can shove all that talk up their ass
Most of them don’t have a title belt
There will still be doubters
“Saber is the backbone of the team”
“Colt is dragging the team down”
“Brian Clark is a mastermind”
Screw all the doubters, but I will prove them all wrong
I have achieved a goal, but I can not settle
I must defend each and every time to prove I am the backbone of the team
I know anything Saber can do, I can do better
Clark’s move is still idiotic
It just paid dividends because I don’t like to lose
Apparently neither does Saber
He is so fortunate to have an amazing partner
As much as I love this belt, I love the thought of beating Saber even more
Proving again to all the doubters who the next rising star is
As a smart business man, I will put those thoughts on the backburner
They will simmer for now, until after our reign is over
And it won’t be over until I am the first person to hold two belts at once
Not Jamie Krenshaw
Colt is suddenly startled by the touch of a hand to his right shoulder. As he turns his head around he can see Britney Clark standing behind him with a cheesy grin on her face.
Britney: I know it is new to you, but I promise you will have that belt at least for a couple of weeks. You can oogle it all you want later.
Colt: I was just thinking, and I know I will have this title belt for more than a couple of weeks, as long as Saber doesn’t drop the ball.
Britney: We shall see about that one, in case you forgot there was already a preset up at Supercard II for the tag team titles to be defended against more than one team.
Colt: I did forget about that, however, that doesn’t change anything. I will not be the one eliminated from that match, if anyone it will be Saber. And then he will have hell to pay for costing me my championship.
Britney: Regardless, now is not the time to worry about that. Brian sent me to come find you to come back to the locker room.
Colt: Why, does he want to parade around with the “I told you so” comments?
Britney: I am sure he will throw a couple of them in, but in reality he just wants to celebrate you and Saber’s victory.
Colt: If it wasn’t bad enough that I had to tag with the guy, now Brian wants me to celebrate with him to? Is he nuts?
Britney: Maybe, but he was the mastermind behind the new Tag Team Champions.
Colt: Don’t remind me.
Colt gets up from the speaker box and follows Britney down the hallway towards the locker room area. When the reach the doorway they are meet at the same time by the other half of the Tag Team Champions Saber. Britney positions herself slightly in between the two, but neither looks prepared to make a move towards the other. They both stand their glancing at each others title belt, with looks of awkward approval. Britney opens the door to the locker room and Brian Clark can be seen with a bottle of Champagne in his hand a several glasses in front of him. Brian is not alone, as the two trainers, Rainmaker and Punisher, are sitting in the locker room already drinking a glass of Champagne.
Brian Clark: Gentlemen come one in and join in the celebration. Sorry we didn’t wait for you guys, but we were just too thrilled to. Here grab a glass of and join in the festivities.
Saber: I think I will pass; I have a long drive ahead of me.
Colt: No offense Brian, but if I want a drink it won’t be that weak shit.
Britney chuckles, but accepts a glass from Brian. Brian is oblivious to the discomfort in the room and takes a drink of his glass, finishing it off, and fills up again.
Brian Clark: I knew that you two would be successful tonight; hell I knew that you two would be successful since the minute I laid eyes on both of you. Colt, the minute you stepped foot into my gym and I saw the strength that you possess I knew that you would be a dangerous force to be reckoned with. Saber, I didn’t have the privilege of being your original trainer, but once I saw you compete in the ring I knew there was something special going on. Now I know I may not have done in it in most respectful way, but by putting you two together I helped create an unstoppable team; a team that proved tonight that they are championship worthy. My team; the new TWD Tag Team Champions.
Saber and Colt give each other a quick glance then back at Brian who continues to celebrate with his other trainers.
Brian Clark: Gentlemen, today begins something extremely special. It begins what promises to be a long title reign with your first successful title defense to occur at Supercard II. It doesn’t matter how many teams they throw at you, if you two perform like you did tonight there will be no team that can take these belts away from you.
Colt: We shall see about that, maybe we can get a tune up next week. Clark, you seem to have it in with the Moderators why don’t you make that happen. I am sure Saber wouldn’t complain about tuning up a little, he could use it.
Saber: Very funny Grape Ape, but I got other things to worry about next week. Incase you missed my little confrontation with the Wizard, but him and I are going toe to toe in the UWA next week. So sorry I can’t show you up again next week.
Colt: You would be off playing with the Wizard when you should be here getting ready for a real match. You know what I am done with this celebration; I have better things to do and better people to celebrate with.
Colt nods to the Clarks and walks out of the room slamming the door. When he gets in the hallway the backstage area is almost completely empty and he decides it is his time to leave, but before he leaves he notices the card sheet for the next Showdown post outside the Moderator’s door. As Colt looks, he sees that he will be competing next week, in a triple threat match against halves of two teams he will be defending the titles against; Tommy O’Malley and Shabree.
The Moderators are keeping me busy
Time for me to show everyone who the best part of this team is
Puppet can run off playing double athlete
I will stay in the real fed and make an even bigger name for myself
I will show Clark and Saber not to screw with me
I will show them that I have my head in the game
I am now one and one against O’Malley
We could call this the rubber match
Plus one
Plus one is far more then any normal man
Cause she is the farthest thing from a man
Mom always told me never to hit a girl
But she never said anything about Power Slamming
Or Suplexing
Or even pinning
But she isn’t the one I will enjoy pinning
Something about her makes her intriguing
No I will put her away
And end the match with O’Malley staring at the lights
A perfect end to a perfect match
Saber will be busy playing with the Wizard
While I will be busy beating O’Malley senseless
I sound so damn arrogant
But I deserve to be
After all I am Holier than thou
Colt smirks and taps his tag title that he has flung over his shoulder.
