So I am watching the news tonight and they did a special on former Dallas Cowboy Drew Pearson which I found insightful. What really amazed me was the NFL voted him as part of the All-Decade team, but not in the NFL Hall of Fame. in addition, the Cowboys have refused several times to put him in the Cowboy Ring of Honor. What's the deal? Here is a guy who grew up in New Jersey and went to college in Tulsa. He was considered too small and too slow to be any good. he played quarterback his first two years at Tulsa then played Receiver his last two years. They were on probation his first three years there, had two losing season and went through three coachs in his four years at Tulsa and was stil inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame. Just curious as to what any of you think about this. Below is a link to his pro stats while with the Cowboys. www.pro-football-reference.com/players/P/PearDr00.htm?redir

The man is a god and that is enough said.
The Cowboys were so great that talent like this is often over looked. Face it, we are a victim of our own recruting. Pearson looks normal to the likes of other cowboy greats. Maybe if he was on a starved team like the browns or the seahawks he would be in the hall of fame but that is sadly not the case.

No, still don't care...
In unrelated news my dad heared my new voice mail... needless to say, he was very surprised.
HAHAHAHAHA
And another thing... those stats are now over whelming... they are not even remotely hall of fame material.

When the Cowboys get as many Hall of Famers as Cleveland has . . . then you can talk about us being starved. Get ready for Week One KP . . . because these boards are going to be a lonely place for you when the Cowboys are winless and the Browns are undefeated. WOOF! WOOF!

1. Marcus I am surprised your dad did not backhand you when he heard the new voicemail.
2. Cowboys winless, I don't think so. I don't be the super team everyone down here thinks, but they won't be winless.
3. If Cleveland goes undefeated then we all need to get right with God because that means Armagedon and the Anti-Christ will soon be here. Cleveland will be good, but undefeated I highly doubt. LoL!
4. I believe the count on Hall of Fame players/coaches for each team is Browns 15 and Cowboys 11. Although a case could be made for Drew Pearson, Bob Hayes, Harvey Martin, Calvin Hill and several others. However, we are not dealing in the "should have/could have."
5. As far as his stats go, if you compare them to others in the Hall of Fame, they are equal or better than people already in the Hall of Fame. I think his problem (as well as others on the Cowboys that are not in the Hall of Fame) is the fact that their own team has not recognized them in their own team Hall of Fame. Plus, the fact that Pearson had a merchandizing conflict with the Cowboys for some time.It is now resolved so we will see what Satan, I mean Jerry Jones, does from this point on.

Nice call Shaka/Eno/Dragzilla/Doofus/Embicile/ . . . um, Sour Puss. That's why I referenced WEEK ONE! Because after WEEK ONE the Browns will be undefeated and the Cowboys winless. Who do you think you're "replying" to? This isn't the TWF sucka.

LoL! I was just stating my predictions for the entire seasons. personally, I quit being a solid Cowboy fan when Satan bought the team. To be honest, the team I follow has sucked ever since they got beat in the Super Bowl by the Pats in New Orleans and have not returned to decent form ever since. That would be the St Louis Rams.
Personally, I like the Browns and what they have done. I was surprised by their season last year, but as a follower of the Cowboys, was happy to see them not make the playoffs so the pick the Cowboys got from them was higher up. I think the Browns will surprise people this year and actually make the playoffs. There only problem is what will they do at the QB position if Derek Anderson continues to play the way he did last season. With Quinn's high dollar contract, they can't afford to keep him on the bench so somebody is going to have to go.
I will wait till basketball season as that is the sport I follow the most. That and college football/basketball. I am hating baseball season right now. Being a St Louis Cardinals fan and having the Cubs in first place is really pissing me off. LoL!

Actually . . . Quinn's contract has nothing to do with the situation. If he remains a backup, we're only paying him about 2 million a year while we pay DA an average of 8 mil over the next three years. But you do bring up a valid question because it is a possibility that if DA plays just good enough not to lose his starting job, Quinn's agent will most likely try to force a trade. Of course that is only one scenario. DA could play horrible and Quinn will become the starter or DA can play lights out (improving on last season) and he will remain the starter. It's not a situation I'm particular fond of . . . but in reality . . . it's a real good situation to be in.

Reminds me of the contract Steve Young had when he sat on the sidelines and cheered Montana on. TYoung had the best job in the world, all he had to do was sit there and clap for Montana. If I were Young, I would have announced my retirement the day after Montana held his retirement press conference.
If things go south for Cleveland and they have to unload either DA or Quinn, they could always look to Miami who should have taken Quinn when they had the chance in the draft. Instead, they passed him up and they still suck at the QB position.

We Minnesotans (even though I'm no longer a Viking fan) hate Dallas for 3 sports related reasons.....
A) Herschel Walker trade.....How the fook do you (Vikings owner at the time) not realize the idiot had 2 GOOD seasons and was dead weight.....yet....you (vikings owner) gave up 6 freakin draft picks which Satan (I agree with Shaka/Eno/Dragzilla on this one) builds his early 90s dynasty on?? Not saying the Vikes should have had 2 or 3 early 90s super bowl titles because well lets face it....Hell has to freeze over before the Vikes win a super bowl...hell the Bengals have a better chance at winning the Super Bowl before the Vikes do.
B) Dallas Stars.....hockey in Texas??...HOCKEY IN TEXAS?? I bet they pay huge fees to keep the ice frozen down there.
C) Mavs. They've always been a thorn in the Wolves side since I can remember, I hated the Rodman days even though I loved Rodman. Mark Cuban annoys the piss outta me.

This sounds like some little dogs yapping at the heels of the big dog looking for a bite. And Martin, I told you last year and I will say it again A loosing Cowboys team is more intresting then a winning rest of the NFL. Americas team FTW. After week one we will send you, DA, braylon Edwards, and Brady Quinn back to that snowy, shitty, swing voting, midwest hell hole you call Ohio. Birthplace of avaition my ass. TO's salary = Browns Roster Getcha popcorn ready!

How many prime time games do the Cowboys have? How many does Cleveland have? Huh . . . wonder what they base that on??? And TO barely makes more per year than our left tackle. But way to smash me with a wave of nonsense. Um . . . I don't know what to do with your ignorance. I'm dumbfounded. YOU WIN!!!

I would guess it is not quarterbacking or if you made it to the playoffs that last season. On a side note I have NFL direct ticket so I watch EVERYTHING. I often find myself watching Jacksonville games alot
