Almost missed this week.
Thank you for coming to read another print out of "Talking Shit."
With that said, I probably lost about five out of the eight people who actually read this. That's about as sad as Ray's attempt to change his format on the "Shotgun Report."
For thse who might take this as a fourm for me to vent, please don't, I like to see it as motivation. When you go back and read at least the last two editions of "Talking Shit" it was mostly about self evaluation.
A person like myself don't like maken excuses or just talking with no actions. I would prefer to let my actions do all the talking, and I guess that comes off a bit to aggressive for some people. I don't apologize for it, cause maybe then you would take the time out and help yourself to a cold glass of self improvement.
No don't get me wrong, I am not saying I am better than you (which I probably am), I am just saying if you are in a shitty situation, take a step back and get yourself out of it. It's that simple, find a solution and execute. Save the excuse and the double thinking yourself for later.
Now on with the show.
-------
As of late I have really gotten into watching that new Micheal Irvin show called "4th and Long." I don't just like this show, but I love it. I guess because I see every thing from Micheals point a view. We might carry ourselves in a manner that most don't agree with, but, one thing they cannot disagree with is the result that comes from it.
These guys on the show are trying to take a new back door to live out a dream they had ever since... when ever. Now Micheal Irvin is maken them prove it 110%. He wants to see how bad they want to play pro foot ball. So he puts them threw some of his old work outs.
I can not blame him for maken them guys go threw the things that he sends them threw. I just can't. It goes to show you, if you want something so bad, prove it! Get ya ass in gear and prove it. Show up when your number is called. Go all the way and as they like to say on that show "leave it on the field."
Every one has a dream, but for every dreamer there is a thousand execuses. What I hate more is what happens when that dreamer get a chance to live out that dream and fails because they could not get the job done.
On this particular show the one sentence that drive me up wall is when they say "if you give me one more chance I can... (insert bull shit here.)"
One more chance? As if this is not your one more chance? You have been given this chance to go all or nothing. Go big or go home and you can't execute like you are suppose to. Yet, here you are in front of millions of people begging to stay around with words like "if you give me one more chance..."
The answer to that is not only NO! BUT HEEEEEEELLLL NO! If you need ask for one more chance on your one more chance, then chances are you are going to fuck that up also.
Now here is were everyone get's hung up at. Everyone wants the lime light position.
Yet, not everyone can be a singer
rapper
producer
entertainer
lawyer
doctor
race car driver
police
ambulance
so on and so on. Hence I put middle class jobs up there, I treat every job as equal, I don't treat them different cause one is more glamours or pays more than the other.
So ask yourself, if you kinow after your "last chance" that you are just not cut to be what ever it is... what is it you really after?
What I mean by that is this.
Just cause you can't be a rapper or singer, are you in it to be just that, or are you in it to be part of the life style? Cause I can tell you one thing, a song writter and producer live those lives you see on tv x2. Just cause you can't be in the lime light does not mean you can't benefit from the lime light. Go writte for some one else who can be in the lime light.
If you are not a foot ball player, be a foot ball coach, become a scout. In my case I am under sized and have hands of stone, so I got cut several times from multiple minor leauge baseball teams. I still love the sport not just being a player, so my ultimate dream job... the one I would die happy if I just had that in my life... is to be the first black owner of a baseball team, I would perfer the Houston Astros, but any would do.
So while you have this wild dream to be what ever the fuck it is, is it just that position, or is it the life style? If it's the position you are fucked! If it's that life style then you still have a fighting chance.
When I have my cousin in the studio, "wanting to be" a rapper I am on his ass. If this is your dream why don't you come to the studio with a book of lyrics? If this is your dream, why the fuck are you looking for a warehouse job, when your mom has given you the green light for the next year to attempt this dream?
If you are scared of success then say so, I will not fuck with ya? That simple. Don't come to me with a pocket full of dreams and no reasonable way of getting there. Even Martin Luther King had a dream and we seen were it got him.
That same muther fucker that sleeps until mid day dreaming of being what ever, is the same fucker who is going to be waken up years later with the same bull shit dream. Only difference between then and now is he is older in age, but no more wiser.
You can blame the old ball and chain (THe wife)
You can blame having kids
You can blame injuruies
You can blame whom ever, when ever, how ever, what ever, just remember the common entity threw out all the blaming... Your bum ass.
Take care people
Peace in the Middle East for the 93
Now go marinate.
