I was tinkering with the site last night and I came up with what I have now. I'll probably be playing around with it a little more, but for now, this is going to be our site layout.
I ran into an issue over here. My monitor is on the fritz and the colors aren't showing properly. They fade in and out and that's going to be a big problem for me in creating that sharp looking layout that I want to. I have ideas for my own graphics and how I'd like the site to look, but until I get a new monitor, I won't be able to do that.
So... this is similiar to what I'm looking for in terms of the new site. The overall layout is close, but not nearly as smooth as I'd like it. Want to get rid of those scroll bars if I can, stuff like that. Make all the fonts, colors, etc all uniform.
Anyway.. the shows are all viewable in the main window now, which I think is a huge plus over your browser having to open a new window for everything that wouldn't fit in the middle news spot before.
The dropdown menu on top works and looks great, I think.
Let me know if this setup is a problem for anyone's browser. I only know what is happening on my end, not yours.
Going to begin working on new bios for people post Showdown that will include a detailed record of what your character has done during his tenure in TWD. Will have links to the shows with all of their matches and the listed outcomes of those matches. That will help people know their W/L record, since some people like to know that shit.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T TALK ABOUT FUCKING W/L RECORDS IN ROLEPLAYS. IT'S RETARDED WHEN I READ UHHH, I HAVE 7 WINS AND 4 LOSSES SINCE I SHOWED UP IN TWD.
The W/L record is just for peace of mind, not something you want to write about.
Yes.. I know. Get a TWD title history page. I'm working on it kids.
I'm going to look into creating a top contenders spot on the rankings page. Not sure if I want to do that right now, but I'll consider it when I'm playing with the site.
Enforcer Title.. is going to stay vacant for now. The roster is thin and we can't support another title. It makes the others mean less. Until we start getting more people to come to TWD, we can't have another singles belt, as much as I'd like to have that belt around.
Recruiting... TWD is very HEEL heavy right now. We need more face characters. If you know people looking for a fed and can handle a real good face character, please send them our way. Heel vs Heel feuds are eehhhh. Mods are very heel as well. Too much heel influence in the fed right now, we need some good guys too. This doesn't mean I want 8 PMs saying "I'll go face!" I don't mind face or heel turns, I just want them to make sense and have flow, like everything else. If you want to go either way.. just know that in some instances, it's going to take some time.
I sent out emails to most people about segments for Showdown. If you get those to me, then this is going to be a top to bottom great show. That is what any federation needs coming off a big event. Something to set the tone for the next handful of shows, heading towards the next big event.
Our next big event is Devils Dance and it's on Nov. 29th. I have a tenative card ready for that and let me tell you.. it's looking pretty damn bitchin.
SIN Wrestling is working on re-opening. The link for that federation is on the Main Site and if anyone has spare free time and would like to play around with another fed, shoot them your support. They are starting from fresh after taking the summer off and have new ownership. Corey is still on board to maintain the site and do a little match judging, but they have two new owners who I think are going to do a pretty decent job.
If you head over to SIN.. same thing applies there like I said with UWA. Represent TWD with some respect and dignity. They like to joke around and fuck with each other a little bit too, but please don't start OOC flamefest and fights with people. Be a good little efedder, like we all are here.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Get me your strats and get in those rps before the deadline on Sunday. Showdown is looking great right now and again, I can't stress enough how proud I am of what everyone gave me for Supercard II. With such a small card, that really turned out pretty damn good. Superb effort, especially on the roleplaying board. My sincerest thank yous to everyone for their hard work.
