Sounds like the weather we have been having here in Texas for the past month or so. I swear, it went from like 90 and sun shine to 50 and Biblical Rain Storm in like the snap of a finger and then right back to not a damn cloud in the sky.
I honestly think God is screwing with our heads with some of the stuff that has happened as of late. He odes have a sense of humor you know. Hell, as a practical joke He made me join the Navy to get away from my dad who was a Marine and then had me put on a Marine transport ship with 500 assholes just like my dad. Proved to me that God had a sense of humor and loved practical jokes.
Seriously, I was amazed at how cold it actually got in Australia sometimes. I guess you just grow up thinking it is nothing but a beach all the time with hot women running around and guys wrestling crocs.

I wanted to get your American opinions on something that aired on TV over here this week. Was on a reunion special for an old (terrible) show and it had the highest ratings of the week by a mile. To put it in context, it's a "talent segment" on a variety show and it's reserved for shitty musical/comedy/freak acts. I found it offensive and the international media has latched onto it somewhat so I wanted to get your opinions on it. I'm sorry if it offends but know that this is a show me and everybody I know hated originally and were even more aghast at a "reunion". Don't base your judgments on Australia on this but please, as Americans, tell me if you find it offensive because our media are trying to play it down. I feel odd as a Caucasian claiming offense for another group of people so see how you feel... www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmaF7Pys7OI

There are so many assholes that get away with that type of shit in the US. It's just how many white people act. Why would I expect less in another country.

I can see how it could be racist or something along those lines. In all honesty I am on the fence with this one, cause they looked like a bunch of fools, so much so it made me glad I am not a white Australian.
It's when we all stop offending each other is when I will start to get concern.

I should point out that they're not White Australians (not that it makes any difference) The lead guy is from India and the rest are from other countries. I kinda class it as mind-bogglingly stupid rather than racist, as in, I don't think any of the guys involved are actually racist. Just morons who think that kinda thing is still acceptable. My main issue is the producers of the TV show were so dumb they didn't realise putting a bunch of guys dressed in blackface in front of a Jazz singer from New Orleans whose father was a Civil Rights lawyer might actually cause offense.
