With a timid voice and idolizing eyes, Jordan greeted her father, Eno, as he walked into the house. "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?"
Greatly surprised, but giving her a quizical look, Eno said, "Look, Jordan, not even your mother knew that when she was alive. God rest her soul. Give me a few, I'm tired."
"But Daddy, just tell me please!? How much do you make an hour," Jordan insisted.
Eno finally gave up and pulled a figure out of the air to give her. " Twenty dollars per hour."
"Okay, Daddy? Could you loan me ten dollars?" she asked with puppy dog eyes.
Showing restlessness and positively frustrated, Eno barked, "So that was the reason you asked how much I earn, right?? You wanted to see if you could pinch me for a couple of bucks? Don't I give you everything you want? Don't I spend all sorts of money on toys, clothes and anything else your heart desires? Go to sleep and don't bother me about this anymore!"
later that night, Eno couldn't sleep and was thinking on what he had said and was feeling guilty. Maybe he thought, she wanted to buy something on her own rather than asking him to get her something.
Finally, trying to ease his mind, Eno went to her room. "Are you asleep babygirl?" he asked.
"No, Daddy. Why?" she sleepily replied, but tried her best to hide it.
"Here's the money you asked for earlier," Eno said hanging his head.
"Thanks, Daddy!" rejoiced Jordan, as she reached over to her desk and grabbed an envelope and pulled out another 410 bill.
"Now I have enough! Now I have twenty dollars!" she said to her father with big sparkling eyes and a childish smile.
"Have enough for what," Eno asked somewhat confused and puzzled.
"For you," she replied happily.
"For me?" Eno asked, this time more confused.
"Daddy could you sell me one hour of your time?" she asked unaware of the shame and guilt those words placed on Eno's heart.
The innocent wisdom of a child can hit you like a ton of bricks if you aren't careful. trust me, I know. That little conversation with Jordan really made me stop and look at my life and reevaluate things and what is important to me. made me stop and reallize what was important and what was nothing more than window dressing.
Through her innocent eyes I could finally see the man I was and not the monster I felt I was and that Kingpin tried to turn me into. I have a second chance to be a father and make a difference in not only her life, but everyone's that I come in contact with. And that is just what I am going to do. I am going to be a positive influence in all those I come in contact with and do my best to leave a lasting impression on each and everyone of them.
So it is 2010 and it's time to get down to business and business starts this coming Showdown with Filipe. But when speaking of Filipe and what this match means, we have to take a look at some things that happnened in 2009 and how they bring new meaning and heat to this match.
In september, after a two month break from the TWD, I returned and began a quest to try and clean up the TWD. Along with the help of Bobby Baggs, we set out to recruit several key roster members to form an alliance to help police the TWD and help matches end without outside interference. We set out to help stop back stage attacks and level the playing field and bring about a sense of "fair play" in the TWD. One of the first people we looked at recruiting was the veteran Filipe.
Being a loner much of my career, I was reluctant to do this, but Bobby convinced me that both Filipe and Kersh were the two men we needed to get onboard with us. With two superstar veterans like them, the alliance would easily form and we could set out to obtain our goals.
Little did we know that we were being deceived from the start.
Filipe, we came to you and held out our hand in friendship and offered you a chance to have soneone watch your back. You said you needed time to think about it, but all along you knew what your answer was. You had no desire to join us and were keeping a dirty little secret from us and the rest of the fans. Guess I hsould have known better. I mean being part of JENT, I too havbe kept some secrets. But the difference between you and me is when I have issue with someone I come at them face-to-face and get the matter settled. I don't attack them from behind or try and throw the blood hounds off my scent by dropping blatant hints to make them look at someone else.
Know what I'm talking about buddy? I'm sure you do.
It was YOU who attacked Bobby from behind because you felt the need to do something to stop JENT. And it was YOU who attacked Kingpin and left a Southern Comfort bottle so people would think it was good ole Eno who had attacked him. in the end, it was YOU who signed your own Death Warrant because now you have both Eno and BlackSmith on your ass now.
Notice I said BlackSmith and not Bobby? Consider yourself warned because you woke a sleeping lion and Bobby can't be held responsible for what BlackSmith may do to you while seeking retribution.
What I don't understand is what you thought you would achieve by attacking him and trying to make me the scapegoat for another attack. You say it was because you felt you needed to do something, ANYTHING, to stop JENT because JENT was getting so big that it needed to be toppled like the Tower of Babylon. yet what exactly did you do? Nothing. All you did was piss off Bobby and disrepsct me. two people that wanted to join forces with you. Now you are on the ouside looking in. But don't worry about watching your back my friend. There will be no sneak attack from one of us. No, not our style. When we come for you you will see us coming straight for you.
I just don't get it. You attack Bobby and make me the scapegoat in an effort to weaken JENT, but neither one of us was claiming JENt when you did all this. Hell son, we were taking JENT down brick by brick from the inside and the whole world saw that and knew it.
Were you that blind that you couldn't see the writing on the wall?
Were you that deaf that you couldn't hear the crashing of the JENT empire caused by Bobby and myself?
Or was it something else?
Somewhere deep down did you have resentment for Bobby and I for doing what you wish you could have done? Did it upset you that you thought about it but didn't have the balls to act on it while Bobby and I simply just did it and saved all the talk for those that couldn't get the job done. What was it Filipe? What possessed you to come after us and now place a target on your back? Are you that starved for attention in a sport that has paast you up that you felt the need to bring heat on yourself in hopes of making it back into the lime light?
Well whatever the case, whatever your reasoning is and no matter how dilluted your thinking is, you are going to get your wish. This Showdown you will step in the ring with me and get your chance to shine one more time. Only, the ending you are hoping for is not going to happen. You will lose my friend. You will be quickly demoted to a mid-carder or filler matches against the "up and comers." Your attention will be short lived, but the pain you feel will last a lifetime when I am done with you.
Then after all that, after I have defeated you yet again, you can sit and wait and wonder what BlackSmith has planned. Wonder when he is going to come for you seeking retribution. But like I said, neither of us will come like a thief in the night. No, we will come barrelling down the tracks at you light a run away locomotive that can't be stopped. And all you can do is freeze on the tracks, like a deer trapped in headlights, and get run over.
Just don't get mad at us if this ends up being the final days of your career and it ends without the fanfair you so desire. You did this to yourself my friend. So when you look in the mirror be sure to thank yourself for the beat down you will soon be given. Happy New Year regardless of the hell you will have as this new year starts.
Shalom.
