When I heard news of Rob Chesbro's decision to close down The Wrestling Domain, I was surprised. I had no reason to expect such an event in the immediate future and was confused as to why what seemed to be a knee jerk reaction was made. I knew I would get the chance to have the conversation with Rob to help me understand his logic and that's why I refrained from commenting for the most part.
In the meantime, I wanted to gauge the mentality of TWD handlers. The poll was a first phase evaluation of that mentality and I believe the results speak for themselves. In a weeks time, we had 9 handlers respond to the poll with only 7 responding in a positive manner. This isn't a negative result, it's just a telling one. Personally, it's the overall number more than anything. A number that pretty much coincided with Rob's thoughts on the federation.
With that being said, I don't see any reason to make an attempt to revive what has been, for the most part, a fairly solid federation throughout its existance. In short, we had a good run and most importantly were able to reconnect with and in some cases develop relationships we've created during our time in this game. I'm fairly happy with the fact that TWD hung around for nearly two years and it could not have happened without everyone that took part. From Rob to Emilio Ramirez (that was me by the way and boy did I suck) I want to personally thank everyone that participated and had a hand in bringing this opportunity together.
It was great to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. I hope that we can continue to stay in touch. As I look back at my time in e-wrestling, the thing that means the most to me over everything else are the people I've come to know. Those personalities, those ooc and ic characters are what makes this game fun. Thank you all.
I would encourage everyone with the motivation and desire to seek out new opportunities in the e-fed world. Originally, I created TWD to revive e-wrestling. It wasn't but several weeks into the task that I realized that e-wrestling didn't need revived. There are tons of feds out there with top notch talent and competitive desire. Some of us thought that because the game had moved out of our circle of "friends" that it was dead. That wasn't and isn't the case. Opportunities are out there, you just need to find them. And of course, being the good guy that I am, I'm here to help.
Our very own, Raymond "Kingpin" Jones has already started to construct his next masterpiece and it is in the form of an e-fed. I think it would be great for those willing from TWD to carry on in this fed. With that in mind, Ray wanted me to announce that the formatting would be reconstructed soon (tomorrow, but you know how those fed heads over promise) and that if you transfer to the fed from TWD holding a title, that title will transfer with you (i.e. If Krenshaw goes to this fed, he will be the Heavyweight Champion). To get to this fed go to kingpin7666.proboards.com/index.cgi?
When things start to settle down for me at work, I am definitely going to take a look.
Finally, just to put an end to the madness. I spoke with Rob about an officiel storyline to the closing of TWD and without fanfare I am going to announce that so that some (if they choose) can use the storyline to further their character. It's nothing complicated.
The Moderators and their unknown employer were given an offer by an annonymous investor that they couldn't refuse (they were just in it for the money anyway). At the investors request, the Moderators quickly and quietly dismantled the company as a way to calm the competition. Contracts were voided or bought out and assets were liquidated. Brent Kersh's dream of a competitive platform became yet another victim of the business of professional wrestling.
HEY, I told you it wasn't complicated, but it was important to me for everyone to have the same idea.
Folks, thanks for everything. All of it. Don't stop having fun. Life is too short. Enjoy.
