Before we here about Terry Dane’s journey to joining the TWD, we return to the present where Terry Dane’s first TWD match will be one of the most difficult matches to win in the sport of professional wrestling, the Triple Threat Match. It’s a match that champions fear and cowards dread. How easily can it can be to lose a the match and, if the wrestler has one, a championship without staring up at the ceiling? Terry ponders this as he sits in his young son’s room, watching him sleep. Ginevra walks into the room and they smile at one another.
Ginevra: (Whispering) What are you doing, Terry?
Terry: Staring at the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen-and now speaking to a close second.
Ginevra: You are thinking about something. I saw it in your eyes.
Terry: Yes, my first match at The Wrestling Domain. I can't believe the first match is a Triple Threat! It’s difficult enough to compete in your first match at a new place in the usual manner, let alone in this format.
Ginevra: You worry, too much. Tom trained you for most any style match. I remember watching you and those two farm boys in Tom’s ring. You handled them very well!
Terry: Yes, well, they were farm boys, weren't they? I’m facing two real wrestlers this time.
Ginevra: Who are they?
Terry: A guy who pretends to be a chef by the name of Emilio Ramirez and a man with a shark persona.
Ginevra: Oh, Shark Boy is in TWD?
Terry: (laughing) No. I wish. He was always nice to me. No, this is someone different. I'm not sure how nice of a guy he is. I know that Ramirez is arrogant and uses his bullying to intimidate.
Ginevra: Well, you are far from the intimated type.
Terry: The fact is, I don't know much about these guys and they have wrestled so sporadically, I don't have enough tapes from TWD to get a good idea of their styles. I am, admittedly, worried.
Ginevra: You didn't know much about many of the wrestlers you faced in last year's BK Tournament, but you made it to the finals. You didn't know much about the guys in SCORE, but you did good there. You've wrestled many local wrestlers over the past year and have beaten a fair amount of them. why should this be any different?
Terry: Because, I- I'm afraid of looking a fool in a place I wish to make a real mark.
Ginevra: Terry Dane! If Tom Stone was alive he would stretch half a day for talking that way!
Terry: Yeah, but Tom isn't alive. I am on my own!
Ginevra: Asshole!!!
Ginevra runs out of the room, crying.
Terry: (sighs) Brilliant, Terry. You have the emotional understanding of Dylan Jones and the tact of Rob Blondie, Terry. If you were only as talented as either of them.
Terry can here Tom Stone's voice in his head telling him to stop being a little pussy and to find his balls. Tom always had a knack for putting things in perspective.
Terry: Well, it doesn't matter how good, bad, or in between Emilio and Sampson are. They are good enough to be in the TWD, but they didn't go toe-to-toe with Dylan Jones, Justin York, and the other great wrestlers in the BKT or in SCORE. I may not be the best-yet-but I am good. I am good enough to anticipate what they will try in a triple threat. I am smart enough to see the signs of what they will try to beat me. I am sure I can counter anything they try thanks to my training.
Terry stands up, his son is stirring and cackling.
Terry: I have a son that will want to be proud of his father. For him to do so, I have to be the real man that's inside and out. I will show Ramirez and Steele that they aren't just facing a man-they are facing pure Dynamite!
Terry hears clapping behind him as he picks his son up.
Ginevra: So, I had to pull the crying wife act to make you find your balls. The one's that created that treasure- and facing pure Dynamite? Please tell me that's not your catchphrase. You may as well be shouting, “Shazam!”
Terry: Thanks so much for your criticism- and your love.
Kisses him and the baby.
Ginevra: You're welcome. Anytime, sexy.
The family all stare and smile at one another as the scene fades.
