Terry Dane. Wrestler. Father. Husband. Emo Fool.
Terry Dane- That’s what I am. I’m so Emo, I should be wearing black nail polish and trench coat while writing poetry above cutting myself. I have let a “whoa is me” attitude consume me over the past year. There is no excuse for it. Now, I haven’t trained properly for The Chef and My match. I have slacked because of my father’s passing.
Ginevra enters the room.
Ginevra- Terry, it’s understandable that you-
Terry Dane- I what? Let a man I never knew’s passing get to me? Ginny, I’m supposed to be a better wrestler so I can feed us all on the money I make from it. Do you think Tom would have wanted me to sacrifice my training for my sorrow? Do you think my father would have?
Ginevra- So, what are you going to do about it? The match is tomorrow.
Terry Dane- If this were a movie, I’d have a cool training montage. Since this isn’t the movies and I’m not Sylvester Stallone, I think I’m going to call Ramirez and see if he wants to do a workout cram session.
It’s several hours later at the building TWD will be holding the card Saturday night. Rob is in his workout clothing. He has clearly been working practice matches for awhile as sweat is dripping from his brow and his clothes are soaked.
Terry Dane- I suppose I should speak to our opponents for tomorrow night. Colt Crawford and Insomnia, I don’t know either of you. I have heard of Insomnia from his time in TWF. Colt, you are a bit of an unknown. Both of you are big, powerful men who clearly don’t need to have technical skills to get wins. As Bret hart always said, a good small wrestler can beat a mediocre big man any day of the week. I don’t know if you are mediocre or exceptional big men, but I know my skills. I’m not cocky, but I’ve been in the ring with men your size before. I can beat you. Ramirez and I can beat you as long as we focus on what needs to be done.
Terry waves at his partner, who is still in the ring. He nods.
Terry Dane- Power moves equal powerful mistakes. All we need is one mistake from the two of you to get our hands raised. Cliché as it is, the bigger they are the harder they fall. We are going to do everything we can to make you both fall very hard.
End.
