I never said I was afraid of a Muslim president...I said..."HE has ties to the Muslim religion" AND he continues to be vague and try to put THAT part of his life in a small box in the corner of the attic that no one can see.
It makes me think he has something to hide.
and dont even start with the racist bullshit.
As for the military....this country does not allow Deaf people to serve otherwise I'd be there and probably dead by now.

They allow deaf gi's it just matters how much hearing loss you have. I had a soilder on my team that was partially deaf. I think you just have to have more that like 30%. I would have to look up the standards.
I truly beleive in the right to service so long as you are mentally able to understand to oath. If you want to go you should be allowed to go and fight. Also if you are old enough to fight you are old enough to drink.

It will be hard for me to stand for the pledge, i don't want to stand in unity with a bunch of yokes who I came to despise.
I don't bull shit with any one. The only way I would stand up for anything is if I believe in the same fight, I'm not going to side just cause I was born over here.
Some say American, love it or leave. Why should I? They owe me more than they know. Not cause of the history of the slaves and all that crap , but because they tax me and bail out greedy hogs. I'm only around for business and business only.
Saying the pledge does not put money in the bank, but stepping on other will get you some where in this country.
Now, if a war was started in my back yard, yea I would choose a side to protect what is rightfuly mine and only then. That does not mean I would still stand for the flag at any given time. I find it to be a over rated ceremony. I find it about as useless as a blood or a crip standng by their colors, same thing to me.
And Raf as far as racist bull shit... This is america, that is what it is built off of. Everyone screams racits including white people, it's the american way.

Racism is the bastard son of stupidity. Unfortunately, it is embedded in our history and will forever be part of our present and past. We (Anglo-Saxons) came to this coutry and took it from the Indians. We then brought over the Negroes (no insults meant, just using the term the history books like) to work our crops and tend our land. Then the Chinese were brought to help build our railroads. The irish were giving citizenship to help fight the war against the South. The hispanics were brought were to work the jobs we felt were "beneath" us. Funny thing is, none of us are from "here" we are all from somewhere else.
Then again, that is the beauty of America, we are all from somewhere else, giving this country the best mix of the best out there. We each bring to the table our own history rich in tradition from where are fore-fathers each came from. The ad thing is we can not see past color of skin or religion to realize what we have that no other country has built there history upon. The day we realize what each man and woman of different skin and religion brings to this country, then that will be the day we become what we once were and that is America, the Great.
As far as the National Anthem goes, I stand for it to remember those that have fought and either died or were wounded to give me the opportunities I have today. Yes, I have issues with this country today. When I bust my ass to make a living and then am told I make too much money to move in to an apartment complex that is based off of income and then see a "Shaka Sho'Nuff" wanna-be come rolling into the complex in his tricked out ride I get pissed. Just because I make an honest living and report it I am the one to suffer while he slings rock and reports nothing? That pisses me off.
It's funny, the Republican Party seems to be the party for those who have so much money they don't know what to do with it. The Democrats seem to be the party primarily for those that want a hand out and are too lazy to get off their ass and work. So where is the party for the average man and woman, the majority of this country, the part of this country that keeps America moving? Why is it the majority of this country and the one that seems to pay the bill for the transgressions of the others has no representation or voice?
Maybe I am just rambling, maybe there is a point somewhere in what I have said, who knows. However, what I do know is that if we can not come together, debate in a logical sense and then get behind our leaders while our leadersactually do what they were elected to do and that is be the voice of the people, then this country will never climb the ladderagain. Instead, we will slowly sink further and further behind the other countries of the world.
Sorry, this topic has sparked a fire in me and I will continue to express my Freedom Of Speech each time I see something here that invokes a sense of passion or concern. Thank you Marcus for starting this topic and thank you to everyone that has voiced their opinion in this thread. THAT is what this country was built on and THAT is what made this country great.
