Ascension 2009Well . . . there she is. I've been fighting a fever and a gut wrenching cough the past six hours as I worked on it . . . but no excuses. It's late and I hate it. Again, I apologize to everyone. Everyone seemed to work pretty hard for this one. So good job. You did the TWD proud. As for the PPV . . . I don't think it's as "put together" as the other cards have been and part of that is my condition and part of it is time available. Secondly, the Texas Tumble match was a bitch to write. Plain and simple. In the end, I think it's crap . . . but I'll let you guys decide. Um . . . I may have forgot some stuff. I can foresee some pretty big logical errors. So criticize away. Let me know where I screwed up. At this point . . . I think I'm going to postpone the next SHOWDOWN one week. So I'll post the upcoming lineup in the coming days or just wait until Saturday night to do so. Until then . . . enjoy the break and take it all in. Post your comments, observations, criticism below. Again, I apologize this was out late and I really appreciate everyone's effort.

This might sound crazy but I work out when I am sick. It's a trick I learned in the army. What you want to do is do enough cardio to break a sweat and keep it there. The Idea is to sweat as much as possible. That helps break the fever and speed up the metabiolism. It also makes your body work harder releaseing more white blood cells. BUT DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. If you don't you could slip into a coma.
It is how I got rid of food poisioning last year

Little bit of basketball, bunch of pushups, simple shit.

That was an alright show for you being half dead and all.
Although I feel slightly cheated in the Sparrow/ Marcus T ending. I was looking for a better way to continue the feud. I also think that a close clean victory was in order with something shady happening afterward.
I could almost hear Sparrow throw the mouse in that championship match. I couldn't believe the turn of events in that match. Well written.

I knew I would forget something . . . I'm sure there will be more . . . but somewhere among the mess was supposed to be this Rastafari segment.

Aimee Miller: I'm backstage with the number one contender JahMon Rastafari, and I'm sure he would rather I just stand here and look pretty so here...

(Aimee hands the microphone to JahMon who doesn't grab it but Aimee doesn't notice as she lets go of it, the microphone hits the floor with a thud, Aimee turns to see what happened and JahMon embraces her with a huge lip lock, he then bends down and picks up the microphone and hands it back to Aimee who is redder than a chili pepper.)

Aimee Miller: Umm, well umm, JahMon tonight you go against Eno Redrum, the only TWD Champion there has been since the title was introduced, how are you feeling?

JahMon Rastafari: Well Miss Miller, after that little kiss, I say I feel GREAT mon! Tonight, I get to go for what I've always dreamed of, tonight I get to earn my way to a Championsip, tonight I will lay it all on the line for a shot at glory. You see, Eno Redrum is no stranger to title matches, nor is he a stranger to title defenses, however, Eno Redrum has been around a few years, me, I be a rookie mon, my first Title shot and I'm as green as can be, but hey, I feel confident because no matter what, win or lose, I worked hard and earned my way here. But I want you to understand one thing Eno, tonight when you step into that ring, theres no JENT to help you, no Smokin Hardcore to help me, tonight, its man to man, straight up respect mon. I say we do it proper, best man wins, you win, I shake your hand, I win, you shake mine, nothing but respect mon. Now Miss Miller, thank you for holding the microphone, and for that good luck kiss, now if you excuse me, I need to go win myself a TWD Championship.

Aimee Miller: Wait wait . . .

(Aimee straightens JahMon's track jacket and then plants a huge lip lock on him, after a few seconds, she steps back and giggles.)

Aimee Miller: Good Luck.

JahMon Rastafari: Yes Mon, thank you.
**Since my post, this has been rightfully added to the card.

I liked the card. The Texas Tornado match was a cluster fuck to start with, and you worked with what you had. All things considered, I thought this was a bang up PPV.
Big congrats to Kurt Stone on the #1 contender status, nice work.
I thought that Rastafari had it, I loved the main. Martin is really setting himself up as quite the villian, the roster seems to be reacting accordingly.
Nice job everyone. The amount and quality of the RPs was top notch this week, let's hope it carries over!

Nothing to say you are sorry for Patrick. I know where you are coming from with the being sick. I swear I wanted someone to shoot me last week when it was kicking my ass.
Overall, I think this may have been the best show to date. Segments were short, sweet, to the point and entertaining. The Wiz and Young match was very good and kept me interested. The Texas Tumble was all over the place. I didn't see the swerve coming in the marcus T/Sparrow match and enjoyed it.
as far as the main event goes, I really don't know what to say. When I saw JahMon won I thought, "damn this match was too short." Then here comes Patrick to throw another curveball at us and somehow I retained. I enjoyed this very much.
over all, I thought the quality of work everyone put in was amazing. Marcus with his 2,536,713 RPs was a bit much but then again, marcus is going to do what Marcus wants to do. I was amazed that I got all of my characters's 2RPs in and meet the maxium for them as well as send in segments for each of them.
The highlight of the RPs, in my opinion, was Luger's RP about going to the Strip bar and the fight that ensued there. To me, that is the best RP that has been written in the history of the TWD. I thought it was amazing and if Luger comintues to follow suit with more like that then in no time he will be named the TWD Champion.
Good job everyone and I am looking forward to the next card.

Great PPV considering the circumstances. The Tumble was all over the place...as it should be. Can't wait to see where we're going from there.
The Main Event was really well-written and I honestly thought Jahmon had it won.....eh....maybe next time...mon!
Good work by everybody, enjoyed reading most of the RP's -- let's see if we can "out-do" ourselves for the next card.
Sidenote: Luger, thanks for the congratulations -- I expected it to be us in the end. Look forward to "working" with ya in the future.

A lot of tie ends... I loved the flash backs. All the hype and all that good stuff.
One last thing.
I have thought about tonning down the asshole that is Marcus T, I sat back and watched hm interact with FB and said to myself... "You know, I might want to tone it down a bit."
This is me been honest about it... Then again... I might just keep it as is..

Well written matches, I enjoyed actually throwing a match for once.
PPV was great, I may not agree with the end and that I lost but I guess Martin's the owner and operator and he figured I lost that match. Instead of complaining about it, I'm going to work with it.
Congrats Kev, Marcus, Rob, and Berto on your wins.
JahMon is not through with Eno yet. Or the TWD Championsip (no WORLD in it fools lol)

This PPV was as good as it could have been, with Martin's illness as the consideration. It's obvious that he was pouring a lot of effort into the results and then the sickness got ahold of him towards the end of the show. Only reason you can see it is because the detail fades during the Tumble match. No complaints at all.
My match with Young was superb. The pre-match video package was awesome. Just awesome. Couldn't thank you enough for giving my undercard feud that kind of attention. It really tickled me. Completely solid match. I didn't expect the finish with Martin being involved, so when I first read it, I was like "ohh man, duh fock is this?" However, it's obviously leading to something else between Youngs/Martin and for that, I'm just being selfish for not accepting the finish for what it was, Ahhhhs first singles victory.
I've dogged Young for a long time. Since the fed started. I've dogged this guy on just about everything I could think of that he was doing. Dogged him on my podcast, dogged him in my rps, dogged him OOC. Didn't show one ounce of respect to the handler. Post PPV, something came over me and all of that disrespect came to a halt.
Without Adam Young, I wouldn't have been able to successfully pursue the direction that I had in mind with Ahhhhs. He gave me a good, long feud that enabled me plenty of time to properly get over my character with his storylines out of the ring and in the ring. I don't think it could've been pulled off nearly as good as it turned out without his participation for the past what.. 5 months? I've never even spoken a word to the guy and he still gave me a knock around feud like we had. A lot of times I was scratching my head, but truth be told, he always gave me plenty to work with. PLENTY.
With that being said.. I give him a ridiculous thank you for being apart of that feud. This doesn't happen often or ever for that matter. Hats off to the conclusion of a good feud and a great final match.
*cuts off my lips because it has Adam Young's ass sweat all over them*
Sparrow/Marcus T. Best match of the show. Superb match. B-E-A-UTIFUL ending. I could care less about the "hardcore" characters. I've been reading them forever and I always roll my eyes at all the shit that comes out of these characters mouthes. Let's be honest. Every single character in e-fedding can be hardcore. All it takes is an email to the fedhead saying I want to be extreme and use lots of weapons. This match conclusion just separated Sparrow from every single other hardcore gimmicked characters I've ever read. That was brilliant. Marcus T worked his ass off for this match and look what it gets him afterwards. A title shot at Showdown. I agree. 'Bout time we got some of the substance and not just the JENT numbers.
Tumble match. It was obviously rushed and we all know why. Who cares anyway? Lots of match filler here with all the names from TWD's past that were cannon fodder. I think rather than making it a 30 man, it could've been shrank down to just the active roster to take the strain off the writer.
Ahhhhs got his ass kicked from start to finish, but I still stuck around. That's a lil' painful to read, but I still think it's cool that he was in that long. Interesting conclusion with Blondie not being out, but Stone is the winner. Congrats to Stone on that win and let's see what happens this coming show. Stone vs Blondie is a solid one.
World title match. Too bad for Jahmon. Had it, but just didn't. Eno comes out on top after the restart. Picture perfect face vs heel stuff here. Like Martin said during the show, he didn't want to win the belt like that. 'Twas good schtuff. Eno looks like a great heel champ. Jahmon didn't loose any steam with this finish. I think it only makes him look stronger and more credible as a top contender. A rematch is necessary.
Pretty good PPV. I guess after a second look here, the only thing that looks rushed was the Tumble and like I said, who cares anyway? It's a cluster fuck that is always going to be ridiculous trying to write. I've done a few myself. It's completely easy to lose characters in that melee and it's pretty difficult to give everyone spots during the match because of it.
Feuds ended, new seeds were planted for future events. This is what PPVs are supposed to accomplish.
